Meet Mr Mathew Jacob

Mr Mathew Jacob is an accomplished colorectal and general surgeon with extensive experience across a broad spectrum of surgical practice. As an accredited robotic console surgeon, he brings advanced technical expertise to the management of complex conditions, with a strong commitment to providing world-class surgical care for patients in regional areas.

His professional interests encompass minimally invasive and robotic surgery, advanced endoscopic techniques, and the integration of high-quality research into clinical practice. Mr Jacob is also dedicated to surgical education and plays an active role in training and mentoring future surgeons. An award-winning clinician, he is recognised for his commitment to excellence, innovation, and the highest standards of patient-centred care.

Training & Experience

Mr Jacob’s academic qualifications reflect a sustained commitment to advanced surgical training and clinical excellence. He holds a Master of Minimally Invasive Surgery from the University of Adelaide (2022) and a Master of Traumatology from the University of Newcastle (2015), complementing his foundational Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery degree from the University of Notre Dame (2014). Prior to studying medicine, he completed a Bachelor of Nanotechnology and Applied Science (Distinction) at RMIT, demonstrating early achievement in scientific inquiry and innovation. He successfully attained FRACS in 2021 and is GESA-accredited for both gastroscopy and colonoscopy, underscoring his competency across a broad range of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
