Condition

Appendicitis

Appendicitis is inflammation of the appendix and usually causes sudden abdominal pain that worsens over time. It is a common emergency condition, and treatment through Mr Mathew Jacob typically involves prompt surgical removal of the appendix.

Understanding the Condition

Symptoms often begin around the belly button and move to the lower right abdomen, sometimes with nausea, fever or loss of appetite. Because appendicitis can progress quickly, early assessment by Mr Mathew Jacob ensures safe and timely care.
The appendix becomes inflamed when its opening becomes blocked, often due to swelling, infection or hardened stool.
If you experience worsening right-sided abdominal pain, fever, nausea or severe tenderness, urgent medical review is recommended. A GP or emergency department can arrange referral to Mr Mathew Jacob for management.
